  1. AZTEC ASTROLOGY: 1300-1521 AD

  3.   The Aztecs worshipped many gods. Perhaps chief 
  4. among them were the sun god Uitzilopochtli (who 
  5. murders his sister the moon goddess), the moon 
  6. goddess Coyolxauhqui, the rain god Tlaloc, and the 
  7. Venus god Quetzalcoatl (who creates the calendar and 
  8. system of writing). The Aztecs conducted animal and 
  9. human sacrifice--they believed that the sun would 
  10. weaken if it were not nourished with human blood.
  11.   Inheriting much of the Mayan's culture, the Aztecs 
  12. devise a 365 day calendar and their own version of 
  13. the 12 signs of the zodiac.
